Hi my friends! I wanted to send this out last night, but it was Monday.

Let’s start at the beginning and work through all the fun and exciting news. First of all, I am about half way through editing Xenagogue! Yep, that means the editor got the manuscript back to me and I’m slogging through all their notes. Book 1 of Pebble is a reality!

Now, why might I NOT be on the ball, you ask? Teaching? Grading? Classes? Nope. I started a whole new series. A dystopian fantasy. Maybe I’ll send out the first chapter, what d’ya think?

As for our favorite phoenix, Ember, well her final story, Battle Phoenix, is out. You all knew this. The audiobook is in review. It’s been there since Friday. It takes up to ten days, so I expect, if you love audiobooks as much as I do, you’ll be able to listen to the story, soon!

A Cold Month 🥶❄️☃️

To anyone who has read Wolf Healer, you know my opinion of February. On the 14th, V-day itself, the roads were so bad, the spouse ended up not getting me anything because it was safer to just drive home. My son called me on his drive home from work, not to talk, but in case the car left the road, someone would know right away.

As for me, I was home Friday. My teaching schedule this semester is Monday through Thursday. I cooked macaron cookies and a nice dinner in (don’t ask about the diet!)

A friend of mine started listening to the full Jade series. On Sunday she started Battlefield and something distracted her after she finished chapter 5. I sent her this short story, linked on my website. It occurred to me that not everyone here may know about all the short stories I’ve written.

When I first wrote Wolf Healer, I had a flashback to when Jade was six, out running with Owen and her cousins. It’s the story she and Owen elude to when they discuss her knowing her future path to become the next wolf healer. The writing group I was with at the time thought it was too much for the first chapter so I took it out and added it to the website as a short story.

There are four short stories. The fist is the one about Jade when she was six. the next is when Bevin is young, coming out to the kiddos about his name. The third one is Bevin during spring break when Jade and Sarah are in Florida, and the last is the first chapter of Battlefield in Pebble’s point of view. You can find them all under the ‘mini’ menu tab on my website.

If there are any other questions you want seen fleshed out in a short story, let me know, though I may wait until after Pebble’s trilogy is out. Unless the questions are about Ember’s world.

Xenagogue is scheduled to drop on April 11th. There haven’t been many pre-orders, though I guess I don’t get many for this series in general, so I’m not too surprised. I’ve been told by my most amazing editor that it should be back to me in the next 7 to 10 days. It’s 2024!

Hi my friends! I am beyond excited for the new year. The end of 2023 was a bit rough. That said, I can’t believe the last of the Jade Stone Chronicles came out!

Did any of you read the short story? What did you think? I’d love to hear back from you.

I’m about to start writing the last of the phoenix books. It will be a trilogy. I don’t know that I’ll write more in that world, but at the start, Wolf Healer was a stand alone, so, we’ll see.

That’s A Wrap!

Hi my friends! Today Pack Present went live. It answers some of the questions you may have had at the end of Battlefield. I hope it answers all the lingering questions, and answers some you didn’t even know you had! It’s a short Christmas Novella, but it packs a punch.

Some fun facts about the book:

  1. It has MORE than just Jade’s POV!! I know, this was fun for me as well. There are, I believe 3 points of view in the book. I’ll tell you Bevin is one of the other POVs, but I’m not going to tell you the last, it would be a bit of a spoiler.
  2. The pack has cats!! Right! If you look at the cover of the book, you can see the cat. There is a cat anthology coming out in 2024 and I submitted a short story about how the pack get kittens. Well, the short story takes place BETWEEN Battlefield and Pack Present, so now the kittens are cats.
  3. The cat’s name’s all come from the book: Wyldling Snare, by A.R. Grimes. I believe the book is either free or on sale right now. As is book 2, Wyldling Trials in the series. A fantastic series by the way.

Other fun facts. The next series, yes, I plan on writing Pebble’s story, but before that comes out, I have two books in a phoenix shifter series written: Veiled Phoenix. I’m actually collecting names for an ARC team. If you think you’d be interested, fill out the form. The main character is nonbinary. A Wild Ride

Flying high over the overheated state of Wisconsin, my author friend, A.R. Grimes and I went on another adventure. We’ve been on a few this summer, and I’ve been remiss in telling you about them, but let me stay focused.

Last weekend, she and I uncurled the wings of my trusted phoenix, and flew to Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I know, you’ve heard tail of said destination before, a humble bookstore, WordHaven Bookhouse.

We ended up stopping at Superior Bar and Grill for Lunch, I believe my Phoenix believed it was a home away from home with the fiery exterior.

Inside, we met the crew of miniature dragons and leprechauns, who quickly fed us fried cheese and breaded meats. All rather taste, if I do say so myself. We even found the leprechauns pot of… well, not gold, but silver!

Once done, we found our way to the bookshop and set up our books. We met many a nice person, signed books, and discussed our publishing ways.

It’s Alive!

So, in 2019 I thought to myself, why not write a book … how hard can it be. This week, book six, the last in the Jade Stone Chronicles, goes live. Battlefield is here! Find out what happens when the battle comes to Jade! You can now read it on kindle unlimited, eBook, and paperback.

I’ve had so much fun with this series, watching Jade, Bevin, Sarah, Jose, and Owen grow. It’s exciting that y’all can now read about their full journey. Hopefully, the final Christmas novella will come out in November, and then in 2024 … maybe 2025, Pebble will leap onto the pages.

It’s June! Schools are getting out for the summer. Father’s day is coming. It’s a great time to read!

I recently told you that I’ve been finishing up the Jade Stone Chronicles. Included in this six book series is a novella, that I hope to release in November. I want to give more information, but … spoilers! Since the manuscript for Book 6: Battlefield is with the formatter, my dream of publishing it in July can become a reality. That means July 21, 2023!

  1. I’m wrote a short story that will hopefully part of an anthology. Information about that is below.
  2. I’m about a quarter of the way through a Christmas novella. I know, book six isn’t out, but the novella is on it’s way!!
  3. Book 6… BOOK 6!!! Battlefield! It’s on it’s way. I’m pushing for July 21st, one year after book 3. I know it’s scheduled for August 17th, but you’ll forgive my excitement and hopeful early release.

The book? Prrranormal Tails. All proceeds to to pet rescue. I know, amazing. I’ve written and submitted a story to the second anthology.
