Fun Promotions!

November is going to be an interesting month. For those of you who are not writers, there is a national writing thing called nanowrimo, or NaNoWriMo, or national novel writing month. It is where writers challenge themselves to write 50k… that is 50,000 words, in the form of a novel, in the month of November.

It’s fun!

Really…

Anyway, I’m penning (well typing) a new book. The title? Veiled Phoenix. Totally new. If everything goes as planned, maybe it will be published next year after all of Jade Stone Chronicles is out. So far the book has 3000 words to it, so, not quite done. Wolf Healer is about 90k…

But that isn’t what I’m here to talk about. I’ve joined a couple of book promotions this month… maybe even a few! One of them is promoting books on Kindle Unlimited. Here is the link: LINK!!!! As you see, all three of my books are on there. If you all could share the link, that would be AMAZING!

I’ll tell you about the other promotion in a few weeks. Hope your November is starting off amazing!

Cheers!

Read-tober

As we come to the end of October, there are so many great books to read. While you are waiting for Traitor to come out in December, why not check out one of these other great books!

A Falsetto of Fury by Amir Lane and N.J. Ember, a book that combines music, magic, and a bit a mayhem to bring you a story of urban fantasy fun. Lottie uses her music to hide the fact that she can use magic. When she’s found out, will the truth be a salvation or the start of something bigger and badder? The ebook and paperback is available on Amazon, or read on Kindle Unlimited!

A Dragon’s Smile by Luna Fox and F. Lowberry, a book about a normal boys whose life isn’t so normal after all. The ebook can be found on Amazon, or you can read on Kindle Unlimited!

Wyldling Snare by A.R. Grimes, a book that follows Enoch, a boy thrust into power when his mentor dies. This portal series bridges a fantasy world and our own. The first in a fantastic series everyone should read! You can find the ebook and paper back on Amazon, and like the other, read it on Kindle Unlimited as well.

I hope you’ve found something you can enjoy in one of these three book. And of course, catch up on the Jade Stone Chronicles ahead of the release of Traitor in December 🙂

Cheers!

This darkened rite will come back to haunt you… Lottie Ferro lives her life by order and rules, but on stage it’s nothing but chaos. While leading goth metal band The Furies on their first tour of the year, Lottie uses her band’s witchy theme to hide her magic in plain sight. As Lottie struggles to keep their manager, Trenton from sabotaging their careers, she starts to suspect she isn’t the only one who’s hiding something. Trenton discovers her secret and offers her an ultimatum: perform a ritual for him or get shut out of the industry forever. Lottie has no choice but to tell her bandmates the truth. Together, they agree to find a way to give him what he wants. When the ritual goes wrong, it opens the door to bigger dangers than any of them are prepared for. From author N.J. Ember and USAT Bestselling Author Amir Lane comes a story of music, magic, and mayhem.

Mrs. Anderson burst through the door and immediately locked gazes with him. Her old, wrinkled eyes, usually stern–and a bit malicious- were different now. They were red, and their corners were moist with tears. Something’s wrong, David thought before Mrs. Anderson swallowed and said, “Mr. Reyes?”
“Um… yes, Mrs. Anderson?”
“Please come with me,” she asked uncharacteristically nicely.
“Did I do something wrong?” He asked, standing up.

A pit formed in David’s stomach, and his heart began racing in his chest. “Mrs. Anderson, what happened? What’s wrong?” His teacher’s tearful eyes met his worried gaze; she sniffled, and David’s anxiety grew into distress. “Mrs. Anderson?”

A lonely path…

David is just like any other normal high school student: slacking off from class, planning for the future like he’s got everything figured out, when he receives news of his grandmother’s death.

He has never felt more lost.

A grim secret…

Sara moves in next door on a mission: to befriend David. With her bright smile and outgoing personality, she easily wins him over. This can be the start of her new life.

As long as no one finds out about her secrets.

Will Sara fill the emptiness in David’s life? Or will her past lead them back to where they started before they met each other? All alone?

“Seek justice, show mercy, and walk humbly with Lord Yshua.”

Easier said than done.

Enoch returns home from the Resurrection Festival to discover that he must serve as the Baron-Knight of the Northern Marches. Although Enoch neither expected nor desired this heavy responsibility to fall upon his shoulders, he’s determined to prove himself as a leader.

But Enoch has a secret he fears will drive away his friends and loved ones. What’s more, both duty and his dreams lead him into the forbidden Darkenwood Forest, where he discovers a path to another world–and the one who shares both his faith and his dreams.

Can Enoch balance his duty with his dreams, or will his secret bring about his downfall?

Meanwhile, a shadowy adversary makes plans that will entangle the fates of three young people from very different worlds…

Time is a Traitor…

Back in 2019 I decided I wanted to try to write a book. I had no idea what I was getting into. I’m not sure anyone who decides to write does. Being a teacher, I spend most of my time in front of students, and not in front of a computer.

Taking words and stories from your imagination, to a published book that strangers (insert freak out here) can and will read, takes a lot more than I knew back all those years ago. If you want to know the steps, let me know, I’ve written some about the process, and am more than willing to share more.

But that isn’t what I want to talk about, what I want to discuss is the fourth book in the Jade Stone Chronicles, Traitor, it comes out this December, one year after Wolf healer came out. I’ve been meaning to tell you all about it, but time has been slipping by me like a kid sliding down a water slide!

I am very excited about this latest book…I hope you are as well. Jade and friends are in college, a new pack has been created, and they’ve moved to California! Only fun can happen from there! If you aren’t caught up on the first three books, see the links below. If you are, tell a friend!

Cheers!

Wolf Healer

Although she trips over her own feet during gym class, Jade’s confident her academics are spot on to become the next healer for her parents’ werewolf pack. But when her best friend invites her to spring break in Florida, everything she thought she knew shatters.

After returning to Wisconsin with carefully guarded secrets laid bare, Jade struggles to find acceptance. As the blows keep coming, she and her closest friends confront the packs intolerances.

Will she be able to hold the pieces of her shattering life together long enough to find a new path?

Epsilon

Over the summer, between sophomore and junior year, Jade and her werewolf pack family rescue Pebble, a five-year-old girl from the foster care system in Illinois. They worry, after her family was found dead by the side of the interstate, that they may have been attacked by a rogue werewolf. After bringing her home, small animals, and then people around town start to turn up dead.

Stolzburg has a rogue werewolf and the alphas have made it clear that Jade and friends need to stay safe. Just because Jade is avoiding the danger, doesn’t mean it’s avoiding her.

Alphas

As Jade rebuilds her life after last autumn’s trauma, Sarah decides joining track is the perfect distraction. While Jade’s figuring out how to compete without giving away her wereanimal status, Bevin finds someone nice he can date.

When summer begins, Jade travels cross country with José, Owen, and Tanner to visit colleges. A run-in with rogue werewolves triggers new epsilon abilities and an unlikely alliance develops. The question becomes: can she save her new ally or will she end up dead?

A very busy month

I love July. It’s the month I can just do what I want. The time is mine. I mean… I have some responsibilities, but much of the time is mine to do with as I please. August is a time of transitions. I must prepare to go back to school, both for me and my kids. I had the pleasure of reading some excellent books, and the stress of having new people read Traitor, book 4 of the Jade Stone Chronicles.

Okay, I need to clarify: it wasn’t bad stress, it was just that they were reading the book critically, and hadn’t read the first three books. It puts the series in an interesting light. In my round up last night, one of them really wants to go back and read the first three books, and, well, the next two books as well, she loved the characters, and the story arcs I began. They did have other things I need to work on, of course, but I have some time before the book comes out in December.

I’ve decided once again that I don’t love marketing, but that is the only way to get my book out into the hands of readers. It is a full time job outside of writing, and the one starting in September where I stand at the front of the classroom. This month I spent many hours learning about creating ads, making better ad copy, and other ins and outs of marketing. Some of the things I learned I don’t know if I agree with as much, but then again, they are the experts. It’s hard when you are told… when I am told… I’m doing it wrong.

In the end, it was a good month. Traitor, book 4, comes out in December. As always, there will be a book give away for people who join this website OR leave reviews for books read starting in September. Get going, friends! If you know people who may be interested in Wolf Healer, but have hesitated, it will be on a free promotional on September 21st through September 24th through the website iheartsappFic.

Cheers!

So Many Good Books!

I love to bring you good books! Today I have so many!

I am currently reading Blasted Research by Coffee Quills. I am almost half way through reading this gem of a book, and it is fantastic. Jules, our hero, lives in a dome in this post apocalyptical future. The premise of the story is excellent, but I also wanted to read this book because of the use of the neo-pronouns xe/xem, it intrigued me. In books 4 – 6 of Jade Stone I do introduce they/them characters, but his is so much more.

In the dome, everyone is required to marry and have kids. Jules doesn’t want to pair off. This is only one of the story arcs. Xe is also asked to travel out of the dome to help gather materials to test the radiation.

The story is fast paced, and the characters are fun. If you want to check out Coffee Quill, they have a website, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and so much more!

Another book I love just came out this month: Romancing Celia by Parker Love. It is the second book in this series. It is a sweet, sapphic, fade to black romance that takes place in the Wild West.

In this book, the characters take a path of discovery to learn who they are, and what they are willing to do to live the life they feel in their heart. In Ann’s case, she knows who she is and who she loves, but she also understands what happens if a community doesn’t approve. For Celia, it is a story of growth into the person she wants to be and learning who she loves.

The last book I want to feature is Wylding Snare by A. R. Grimes. I talked about this book before, but in case you missed that newsletter, it is a fun-filled high fantasy/portal fantasy that comes out in a few weeks! On September 10th, when it arrives to Amazon, I hope you’ll take a chance on it. The author, like me, spends a lot of time creating fun loving characters who you just can’t help but love.

As always, I, myself, have three books out in the Jade Stone Chronicles series. If you haven’t read them, I’d love for you to check them out. If you have read them, please drop a review, tell a friend, or share on social media! The fourth book, Traitor, comes out in December and is available to pre-order now. This year has been a whirlin of crazy… so exciting! I think you for your continued support.

Cheers!

There are all sorts of ways to find amazing books online. At the start of July, I told you about a place to find great reads for the month. If you don’t remember, check it out right here! The promo is only open a few more days, so be sure to check it out.

But wait, there is more!! During the month of August, Astrid has found fantasy books that will be available to you for free or for $0.99! Each week, a new set of books will be there for your perusal! How amazing is that. My books will be there the week of August 17th, don’t worry, I’ll remind you. You can find her fair here, book mark it and enjoy a month of amazing reads!!

If you want more information about Astrid and her amazing book or book offers, you can follow her on Amazon, or Instagram. And I hope you take as much advantage of this as I do…it will be amazing!

Alphas is out!

I am so excited! When I started writing Jade Stone Chronicles, I didn’t know what I was doing. I just wanted to write this story about Jade, who had everything together. In Wolf Healer, She headed on a spring break trip with her best friend and bam! life unwinds.

I wanted to add to the book a new twist on ways a teenager’s life could be a challenge with the adults in their life. Jade and friends have understanding supportive parents… but this trip pushed her parents’ werewolf pack farther than they’d expected to go. She had to rely on her smarts, her friends, and her brother to put the pieces of her life back together.

In the second book, Epsilon, a young girl comes into her family and pack. A rouge wolf comes into their town. It’s a darker story.

Honestly, for over a year I thought I’d stop after these two books, but my oldest son kept asking for more. I finally relented and wrote the third book… and I am so glad I did. Alphas is one of my favorite of the six books in the Jade Stone Chronicles. I love the different story arcs that happen.

This book closes out here Junior year, and her high school years. After this, books 4, 5, and 6 will see Jade and the gang in college.

I hope you are as excited as I am and love this book as much as I do!

Cheers!

Huckle

Did you hear that?!

People today won’t buy things that others haven’t reviewed. Even if we’re at a brick-and-mortar store–are they still really made from bricks and mortar? I digress. Even in these situations, we scan the bar code and check out what other people have found out about the items we want to buy.

Alphas Cover Reveal

Hi all! Alphas comes out July 21, 2022. I am very excited to share my third book with you. It is the end of Jade’s high school years. I will be including a short story in Bevin’s point of view at the end of the story. All of the Jade Stone Chronicles are in Jade’s point of view and she doesn’t know everything. Bevin wanted all of you to know something, and asked that I include this short piece so you knew how his story played out.

On July 1st I’ll reveal the cover. That will be the deadline for joining the website to enter to win a free signed copy of alphas. If you’ve already been signed up, all you need to do is review Wolf Healer and/or Epsilon to enter one or two times to win. If you review, please drop a comment on his newsletter so I can make sure to know that you have those extra entries!
